Certificazione FSC


 

The Forest Stewardship Council is a non profit organization whose goal is to promote throughout the world a management of forests and plantations that will protect the natural environment, good for workers and local populations and valid from an economic standpoint, lined up with the Principles of Sustainability Development of Rio.

 

 

FSC® has developed a system of forest management certification and traceability of wood (chain-of-custody), which allows businesses and consumers to identify wood and wood products (hence the paper too) that come from forests managed in a proper and responsible way.

Why decide on FSC®

Firstly because the FSC® is a powerful marketing tool that communicates a message loud and clear, but mostly because more products FSC-certified means more responsibly managed forests, more forests free from forms of destruction and overexploitation, most forests where the rights of local people and workers are respected.

All companies that sell FSC ® branded products are also required to inform themselves about the origin of wood not FSC® certified in the products FSC® branded and select their suppliers, so that the wood does not come however from illegally harvested forests or forest areas where there are blatant violations of human rights.
